From White Grit, among the remains of the old lead-mines, we climb up onto Flenny Bank and Mucklewick Hill with fine views in all directions. After a descent into the valley of the West Onny we climb again through woodland and mountain pasture to follow the high Nipstone Ridge, southern extension of the Stiperstones.
A beautiful green lane leads us below the Devil’s Chair to Pennerley, from where we loop back to The Bog Centre. The walk embraces some of Shropshire’s most attractive and historically interesting countryside.
