Starting from one of the old stations on the long-closed Bishop’s Castle Railway, we tackle the climb up the side of the hill.
This flowery walk follows the contours around the southern end of the Long Mynd, with stunning views in three directions.
After a long steep pull up the open hillside we walk through a mossy wood to the high ridge of the Mynd at 1410 feet.
There we’ll join the ancient Portway, and follow it gently downhill to the Onny valley.
