Starting at Clungunford, we wander downstream following the meandering River Clun. Designated a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) we might be lucky enough to see kingfishers, dippers or even the rare freshwater pearl mussel.
After stopping for lunch at Leintwardine, we pick up the river Teme, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and follow its banks until reaching the settlement of Buckton. A gentle climb out of Buckton affords fine views of the Teme and Clun valleys.
Descending past Coxall Knoll we walk along the river Redlake to reach our destination at Bucknell.
