At Cwm Hill, in its secret valley, between March and May 1979, Bruce Chatwin wrote the first chapter of his award winning novel. One day he called out ‘I’ve got it, I will call my book On the Black Hill.’
Our walk explores a little known part of the Welsh Marches, where time has stood still. A time captured in the novel 30 years ago. It was later made into a successful film.
