Check-in time for walks is usually between 08.30 - 09.15 at Church Barn, Church Lane, Bishop’s Castle (behind the church). Start times are indicated on the description page of each walk. There is plenty of  street parking in the area and car parks at the Auction Yard, Station Street and Harley Jenkins Street

Other things you need to know:

The area can offer a challenge to walkers so please bring strong footwear, warm clothing and waterproofs. This hilly area is famous for sheep and cattle farming, preventing us from allowing dogs on the walks. If you are unsure whether you are able to tackle any of the more strenuous walks please call before booking to check with the leader. A 4x4 is available for medical emergencies only.

Packed lunches are required on all walks and may be available  from your accommodation provider, or you can buy them from the local grocers, Sol Deli or The Happy Bap sandwich bar at Bishop’s Castle High Street.

We use school buses to take you out to the start of your walk and bring you back (where applicable). For the train walk, (Walk 9, Glyndwr’s Way) group tickets are purchased in advance and included in the price.

Travel Insurance - Guests are strongly recommended to make travel insurance arrangements for their time with the Bishop’s Castle Walking Festival. Refunds of monies on cancellations will only be paid if more than four weeks notice is given. No refunds will be given for cancellation of Fringe Events.
