Our first Festival was held in 2000 with six walks each day. That first year the Shropshire Hills showed us just how wet it could be but everybody enjoyed the challenge and a number came back the second year. Successive years have seen the Festival grow into one of England's friendliest and best-supported events.

The Festival is run entirely by volunteers whose aim is to provide our guests with walks of interest and enjoyment in and around an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’. Safety is always to the fore and each walk has two leaders. At all times we have a 4-wheel drive vehicle ready to bring guests off the hills in event of emergency. We restrict the number of guests on moderate and longer walks. Leisure walks may have up to twenty guests. As we have repeat bookings of more than 70%, early booking is essential.
We look forward to welcoming you to our festival.
